UK access entrepreneur Leigh Farmer is set to return to the access business with a new company – Premier Platforms Ltd, which is registered in the Cannock area in the English midlands.

The new company will offer a range of services including new and used equipment sales, service and inspections, operator training and contract hire- with possibly some short term rental thrown in.

Farmer founded Higher Platforms in 1990– also located in Cannock and after building the businesses into one of the Top 20 UK access rental companies with a fleet of 435 units. He sold it to Lavendon in August 2007 for £8.9 million.

Farmer stayed on at Lavendon for two years, leaving in August 2009. Higher was merged with Panther in 2008.

Premier Platforms was registered three years – almost to the day – after the sale of Higher Platforms was announced.
