Leicestershire, UK based Midland Truck Mounts has bought its first ever new work platform – a Multitel MX225 on a 3.5 tonne chassis.

The purchase followed a year of evaluation by company owner Martin Rickman. “The Multitel MX225 started as the platform I thought I would most like and after months and months of evaluation and looking at what else was available it was still there at the end.”

“We do a number of jobs where access is difficult,” said Rickman. “The low transit height of the Multitel coupled with its narrow width both in transit and with outriggers deployed will mean we can do these jobs with a truck mount without the need to cross hire in specialist equipment. We also see the boom geometry of the Multitel MX models as versatile across a wide range of different jobs.”

Midland Trucks sees its new addition a dual purpose platform capable of being a self drive 22 metre unit as well as an operated unit. Mounted on a Renault Maxity 130 chassis cab, it has in-line outriggers, 22.5 metres working height with 200 kg platform capacity and up to 10 metres of working outreach.
Midland’s fleet includes models with working heights from 19 to 34 metres.
