The positioning of Hirschmann Mobile Machine Control Solutions as a solution provider serves one major objective: to provide even better, cost-effective and innovative solutions and system components to its customers. Suppliers are therefore also integrated into this process. With their know-how and experience they are able to help devise even more efficient solutions.
Increasing requirements in procurement markets should therefore be tackled by mutual cooperation in future. One goal in this process is to further enhance reliability and quality. In particular, bottlenecks in supplies or capacity, as currently experienced due to the disaster in Japan, as well as high demand throughout Asia and in China, call for increased cooperation. Hirschmann has therefore recently contacted its prime partners in order to ensure sustained delivery capacity by taking appropriate and coordinated action.
The importance of an intensive partnership with suppliers is not only reflected by the actions that are taken, but is also underscored by an organizational change in operations. At the beginning of this year, the department “Operational Supplier Performance” was established. In addition to ongoing improvements in delivery reliability and quality its mission are the coordination and close cooperation in changing needs. It will additionally be responsible for planning/scheduling and delivery, quality issues, sampling and releases or technical innovations. Hirschmann Mobile Machine Control Solutions applies a “Preferred Supplier concept“ which allows us to achieve top quality and excellent delivery reliability, but also sophisticated solutions at reasonable cost for its customers.
