BALTKRAN puts its trust in Hirschmann safety technology

JSC BALTKRAN, the crane construction company with its head office in Kaliningrad, is one of the leading manufacturers of industrial cranes in Russia.
As recognised crane experts in terms of development, manufacture, installation and servicing, BALTKRAN offers a wide product portfolio: container cranes, gantry cranes, revolving gantry cranes, overhead cranes, lifting equipment for the railways, harbour and vehicle terminals, as well as for trimodal terminals.

Since 2006 BALTKRAN has put its trust in the safety systems iVISOR PSV from Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH for load monitoring and load moment limitation. Since then there have been four container cranes in operation in Russia equipped with iVISOR PSV, three of these in St. Petersburg harbour.

This robust system, iVISOR PSV, has been conceived for long-term and reliable operation under the most difficult operating and environmental conditions. The programmable software has been structured to be transparent and easy to operate even without great levels of PC skills. Programmed using the LATCH function, a load adjustment can be carried out in just a few minutes, even without using a laptop, simply using keys on the digital inputs.

In the framework of the new contract, worth € 100,000, ten further cranes will be made safer using iVISOR PSV. The new performance milestone, the data recorder, will be used in the iVISOR PSV. Along with the safety functions, the system will now log every lifting operation carried out by the crane, with load weight, date and time.
