Promat 2009 was held at the McCormick Center in Chicago, Illinois from January 12 to 15. Promat is held in Chicago every two years and is hosted by the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA).
This year’s event included over 740 exhibitors that occupied over 300,000 square feet of indoor exhibit space. In addition, over 25,000 attendees from the material handling industry walked the show.
On its booth Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH displayed systems and sensors for the material handling industry. Hirschmann introduced the Scalable Mobile Control System to the industry for the first time. Other products on display included the iVISOR PSA with large numeric display, iSCOUT expert compact, iSCOUT PRS 80, and the Hirschmann line of sensors.
Over the four day show, Hirschmann experienced a high level of activity with the primary interest being in overload protection and weighing systems and load sensors. International visitors included overhead crane manufacturers, crane end users, and crane service companies from 18 states and four countries.
