Hirschmann and its Dutch dealer take in major order from Mammoet

Major order from the Dutch company Mammoet poses a real challenge. Three planned cranes for loads exceeding 3000 tons will integrate several products of Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH.

Mammoet is the global market-leader and expert for lifting and transporting heavy loads. The large order for the three Platform Twinring Dual Stack (PTC) cranes was awarded by PAT-KRÜGER Systems b.v., the Dutch dealer of Hirschmann. Mammoet ordered 50 units of the Scalable Mobile Control System (SMCS) for the three cranes of superlatives. The modular systems that will control and monitor the machine functions are to be shipped before the end of the year. A great launch for the SMCS!

In addition, Mammoet needs 13 fSENS KMD load cells capable of handling 1600 tons of load for the three cranes. The use of sensors of this capacity for the measurement of traction and load forces is a novelty for Hirschmann. The load cells will be tested on a power engine that generates traction forces of up to 2000 tons. A great opportunity for Hirschmann!

Furthermore, Mammoet ordered 65 fSENS DKA compression load cells for loads of 300 tons. The large number of sensor units that measure static and dynamic pressure and weight is another specific feature of this contract. However, Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH will certainly master this challenge.
