Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH integrates the new load moment indicator into DEMAG CC 12000 crawler crane.
Not only will Hirschmann supply the units, but it will also be in charge of the commissioning on site and the programming of the crane. The contract was awarded by the Indian dealer TIL Ltd. Hirschmann has a long-standing and successful business partnership with the largest manufacturer of telescopic cranes in India: TIL is both a customer and a distributor.
The capacity of the DEMAG CC 12000 has been enhanced from 1000 to 1600 tons. This special design requires more than one load moment indicator (LMI). Therefore, Hirschmann decided on a combination of three systems: iVISOR MK4K, iVISOR PSV, and the wireless TRS-14 system.
MK4K handles the load measurement and the LMI function for the 1600 ton crane that has more than 300 operating modes. The load moment indicator memorizes all data in its logger and monitors the superlift radius and the wind velocity. The PSV is a system that may be programmed as needed and that is used as a safe load indicator for lifting equipment. It bundles signals received from numerous sensors, memorizes them in its data logger, und monitors the safe load indicator for forces in the luffing. Furthermore, in conjunction with the transceiver module TRS-14 it controls the oblique positioning of the hook. This interaction of the three flexible components ensures reliability and safety – two strengths of Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH.
