From the 25th to the 28th November the international construction sector is coming together in the spectacular setting of the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC) for bauma China 2008.
And Shanghai, the greatest port city in the most populous country on earth, is playing host.
Over a total area of 210,000 square metres, 40% bigger than in 2006, more than 1,300 companies are expected to exhibit (2006: 1,088 exhibitors). The outside areas cover roughly 130,000 square metres; with one more exhibition hall available, indoor capacity has now reached 80,000 square metres. The number of international pavilions this year has also increased by one (Rumania) to make eight in all.
Double-digit growth rates in the construction machinery sector in China and Eastern Asia show quite clearly what importance bauma 2008 has for the Asian market. In concrete terms, in the first six months of 2008 investment in the Chinese construction sector alone reached a volume of 210 billion Euros. In comparison to the same period in the previous year this means an increase of 25%. In other words, this means that 18% of the total gross domestic product in China went into investment in the construction sector.
Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH will introduce a series of new products at bauma China 2008 with a clear focus on the market launch of the Scalable Mobile Control System which provides reliable control and monitoring of machine functions as well as precise load moment capture. This modular system delivers hardware and software solutions which are perfectly tailored to the needs, and they offer a unique set of advantages. Modular design guarantees that efficient, cost-optimized solutions grow along with the applications. Maximum adaptability provides a fast track to the ideal design solution, and the customers get the added benefit of high investment protection. The system already complies with mobile crane safety standards (e.g. EN 13000 and EN 13849-1) that go into effect at the end of 2009.
Over and above this, Hirschmann will present a new generation of graphic operator and indicator consoles for use with control systems or load moment indication systems supplied by Hirschmann. The consoles are offered in a variety of display sizes and resolution and you can choose between several communication configurations. CANbus, Ethernet, USB and video interfaces come as standard equipment, as well as operator units such as keypads/-boards, rotation control and touch-screen.
Sensors for OEM and retrofit use are another range offered by Hirschmann at bauma China 2008. In particular, Hirschmann Automation and Control is looking at the presentation of length and angle sensors, force and pressure sensors, as for example load pins, force and pressure transducers, as well as compression load cells. The whole sensor product range enjoys the advantages of analogue or CANopen interfaces with the function of the CANopen security protocol.
