By means of this high resolution optical absolute value sensor in a compact aluminium casing, which meets the demands of protection standard IP 67, mechanical angle positions can be translated into digital signals and transferred to a control system by means of the CANopen interface.
The rotary sensor employs a grey-coded disc whose 14 tracks (including the monitor and interpolation track) can be scanned by means of infra-red diodes and phototransistors with a resolution of 13 Bits. On standard production models the node number is set at 32 and the baud rate at 20 kbaud. Depending on the operation, these values can be re-configured by means of SDO telegrams within a range of 20 kbaud to 1 Mbaud, or 0 to 89 as the case may be.
The angle measurement range is 360˚ and offers reliable measurements even under the harshest environmental conditions. The working temperature range is given as
-40˚ to + 85˚ C, so that this can work just as reliably in desert regions as in the eternal ice. It is outstanding owing to its high EMC (electromagnetic compatibility), shock and vibration resistance.
