Fast, reliable and relevant information - especially about the current load and wind forces - are essential when operating cranes and other construction machines safely. Retrofitting, for example, a crane hook can often be very complex or well-nigh impossible.
The branch office in Ettlingen of Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH offers a simple and fast solution for mobile applications with their entire wireless sensor product range.
The range of wireless sensors includes a wind force/speed sensor iSENS WSS-W1, an angle sensor gSENS WGF-W1, a lifting limit anti-two-block switch iSENS HES-W1 and two force sensors fSENS KMD-W1 for 6 tons and 20 tons. The products will be launched in July 2009.
A multi-sensor-display iSCOUT PRS85 with graphic display in several languages coordinates the central monitoring. It is possible to configure up to seven sensors with individual alarm settings adjusted to the relevant machine. Current wind, force and angle sensor values are also displayed in percentile of the defined maximum values. iSCOUT PRS85 checks the connection and the current battery capacity of all connected sensors on a regular basis.
Alternatively, there is an option to transmit the sensor notifications with iFLEX TRS10 via CANopen to a machine control (iSCOUT mentor). The signals are transferred via a maximum of four analogue power and voltage interfaces (iFLEX TRS14) or via two relay outputs (iFLEX TRS12) if analogue interfaces are used exclusively for the control.
Hirschmann Wireless Sensors can be used all over the world due to the internationally free-to-use 2.4 GHz wave band. The maximum range is 300 metres. Lithium batteries guarantee reliable operation of the sensors and have a service life of more than 12 months in typical applications; standard alkaline batteries can also be used.
