The ceremonial unveiling took place at the company’s premises in Calcutta. Leading representatives and partners from the cranes and lifting sector were invited, such as the management from Manitowoc, as well as important customers and suppliers. Jörg Kerkow was present to represent Hirschmann Automation and Control. After speeches by the top management from TIL and Manitowoc, Glen Tullock and Sumit Mazumdar officially handed over a 30 ton capacity RT 530, with the symbolic presentation of the key, to Reliance Refinery. Reliance Industries Ltd. is the largest Indian refinery company with enormous growth potential and has been one of the most important customers for TIL for many years. The crane was presented to the astonished public beneath a shower of confetti and everyone relaxed to the sound of modern techno music. A dance group catered for added enjoyment. In the evening the guests were invited to an official reception in the Taj Hotel.
During the course of its company history TIL has always shown a pioneering spirit and brought several innovations to the Indian market. For example, it was TIL that introduced the first mobile crane, the first all-terrain crane, as well as the first crane with a lifting capacity of 100 tons.
The RT 530 from TIL Ltd. – a small, manoeuvrable and yet very robust crane - once again shows the capabilities of the company. Security in the crane is delivered by the tried and tested MK4E2 load moment indicator (LMI) from Hirschmann Automation and Control. The length/angle sensor LWG 154 can easily be recognised on the crane’s boom.
Hirschmann Automation and Control and TIL Ltd. are connected by a successful business relationship which goes back many years. For more than 15 years TIL has put its trust in the load moment indicators with the brand name Krüger. Earlier it was the LMI s from the MK 3 series, now it is those from the MK 4 series which are used in the telescopic cranes and reach stackers from TIL.
The product range from TIL Ltd. is comprehensive and embraces the whole spectrum of material transport equipment. Alongside a variety of cranes the range includes forklift trucks, articulated tractor/trailers and multi-axle vehicles.
