Hirschmann’s iVISOR mentor used on Madal Palfinger’s MD300 and MD600 series
The Brazilian crane manufacturer Madal Palfinger will install Hirschmann’s load moment indicator iVISOR mentor on their MD300 and MD600 crane series. Once calibration and testing are completed in April 2008, they plan to install over 100 units on both of these models. The MD300 crane has a capacity of up to 30 tons at a radius of 3 meters and a boom length of 31.5 m and the MD600 has a capacity of up to 60 tons at a radius of 3 meters and a boom length of 42.6 m. In addition to this crane line, the iVISOR mentor is also being installed as standard equipment on the Palfinger Sennebogen BR 400 crane line.

The iVISOR mentor provides the operator with a continuous display of the crane’s actual and allowable load, boom length, boom angle, and load radius. The system also includes an integrated bargraph which displays the crane’s utilization. The combination of the central unit being integrated into the console and the use of CAN Bus sensors provides for quick and easy installation. Set-up and calibration is done via the user-friendly console which also incorporates a large backlit LCD display with automatic contrast adjustment. Maintenance free sensors from the latest generation are connected via CAN-Bus and controlled by means of CANopen. The iVISOR mentor also provides the flexibility of optional Working Area Definition (WADS), event recorder, and the use of wireless sensors.
