Hirschmann revolutionises Mobile Automation

SPS.3

The new modular product family Scalable Mobile Control System from Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH is a system that controls and monitors machine functions, as well as offering the option of load moment indication. Its multi–facetted characteristics allow the system to be used with any machine or any application in Mobile Automation.

Scalable Mobile Control System: Modular. Scalable. Maximum cost efficiency.

The product family Scalable Mobile Control System possesses a flexible system architecture for perfect adaptation to any application required. The system comprises new controls from the iFLEX series and new iSCOUT operator consoles in a variety of performance levels which, with their several hundred combinations, allow for the solution required at an optimal cost-benefit ratio – from low-end to high-end. And: in the case of new or supplementary requirements, the solution can be adapted in the shortest time and at optimal cost.

New machinery guidelines already met

The Scalable Mobile Control System already meets the conditions of the new Machinery Guidelines 2006/42/EG which come into force on the 29.11.2009. The integrated safety system consists of a safety control mechanism, the Hirschmann Safety Protocol as well as a monitoring system for the security tasks which controls the main processor and the main control circuit of the application program. As such the Scalable Mobile Control System also conforms to the safety norms EN ISO 13849-1 and IEC 61508 which also come into force as of the 29.11.2009.

Ready for action

Due to its multi-facetted capabilities and the tough construction of its components, the Scalable Mobile Control System can be used in cranes and other lifting equipment, as well as in a multitude of other applications, even under extreme temperatures and the toughest conditions. Early projects beyond the typical Hirschmann markets, as, for example, in wind power, railroad and agricultural applications, have already been envisaged. CONTROL unlimited will report on this in due time, of course.
