bauma 2010 – heading for another record?

BAUMA-2010_blau

Between 19th and 25th April 2010, bauma 2010 in Munich is set to prove what the industry is expecting and hoping for: record results in terms of exhibitors, exhibition floor space and visitors.

The 29th International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment is – and wants to remain – the world’s biggest trade fair.

Record exhibition floor space already booked out

As the trade fair with the largest exhibition floor space in the world, bauma will be bigger than ever in 2010. Floor space is in great demand and much has already been reserved, so there are plans to build additional temporary halls. This means for bauma 2010 the total exhibition floor space will be increased to 555,000 m2. With the temporary halls, Munich International Trade Fairs will be providing additional presentation area for the especially popular product areas of “formwork and scaffoldings” and “construction equipment and tools”.

“This development shows that – even in a difficult economic climate – bauma remains a milestone in the calendar of an industry that wants to demonstrate its power of innovation at this leading international event. As the organisers of bauma, we at Munich International Trade Fairs will do our utmost to create optimal conditions with our usual high quality of service,” says Eugen Egetenmeir, member of the managing board at Munich International Trade Fairs.

Optimised visitor routing

Of course, the bauma slogan “The Peak of Excellence” also applies to the visitor experience. To optimise access from the north-west, a new entrance and registration building is currently being built between the north-west car park and Hall C1. This means that an additional seventh entrance – the north-west entrance – will be available for bauma 2010, which is designed to ease congestion at the busy west entrance.

In addition, Paul-Henri-Spaak-Strasse will be closed, enabling visitors to pass backwards and forwards between the open-air areas on both sides of this road. Here, the verges were recently evened to ground level, giving visitors a clear view between the open-air areas in the south and the north, and making it even easier for people to move from one open-air area to another.
