Right up to the last day, bauma China achieved hitherto unknown levels of success: 113,000 visitors and 210,000 square metres of exhibition space represent a 40% growth compared with the last event in 2006, 1,608 exhibitors from 30 countries represents an increase of 48%! Thus bauma China proved once again its high international status in the international show calendar and consolidated its unique position for the construction machinery sector in China and Asia.

Hirschmann arouses great interest

The show stand of the Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH in the German Pavilion, generous and transparent in its set-up, inspired high levels of interest. Curious visitors could slake their initial thirst for information at the crane wall and the application wall, but the clear attraction was the 200 ton crane simulator. Technical discussions were conducted by the excellent sales team from the Chinese joint venture, Xuzhou Hirschmann Electronics Co., Ltd.

Product introduction of the Scalable Mobile Control System

bauma1

The high point for Hirschmann Automation and Control came with the many press discussions relating to the product introduction of the Scalable Mobile Control System. With this new modular product family, Wolfgang Schenk, General Manager of Electronic Control Systems, presented what is a revolutionary system for mobile automation which, as the first of its kind, can be applied both for the control and monitoring of machinery functions, as well as for load moment indication.

Tailor-made control solutions based on the modular concept

SPS.3

The product family Scalable Mobile Control System encompasses new control systems from the iFLEX series and the new iSCOUT operator consoles, both of which, with hundreds of possible combinations, allow tailor-made solutions with optimum levels of cost/benefit. Besides this, the modular concept guarantees that the respective solution can be adapted to new demands in the most cost-efficient way at any time. Because of its multi-facetted capacity and the robust construction of its components the Scalable Mobile Control System can be used in cranes and other lifting equipment just as well as in a multitude of other applications – even under the most extreme conditions. The first projects undertaken outside the traditional Hirschmann markets, such as applications in the fields of wind power, railroad and agricultural machinery, were discussed at the show.

The positive feedback, along with the enduring levels of interest in the many-facetted application possibilities of the new product family Scalable Mobile Control System, opened very promising new perspectives. With orders from new Chinese OEM’s and several projects in their sights to take home, bauma in Shanghai represented a successful conclusion of the 2008 show season for Hirschmann Automation and Control.
