Tower crane electronics company SMIE has confirmed Jean-Charles Delplace as its new managing director.

Delplace, 36, has been with SMIE since July, his appointment is part of a strategic plan aimed to develop the activities of the company through improvements to its service for end-users and development if its distribution network. He will report to SMIE chairman Jean-Louis Olivier.

Delplace spent the early part of his career with Peugeot Cycles as product manager, joining Dassault-Aviation in 1999, where he held various functions, including project manager and manager assistant, for France and the UK through a partnership with the AFE Foundry Group.

He then moved CETIM (the Technical Centre for Mechanical Industry) to develop the software activity, in particular with the PI3C company.
