Cargotec, owner of Hiab and Kalmar has appointed Lennart Brelin as executive vice president, Americas, the move follows the company’s announcement that it is merging and renaming its Hiab and Kalmar businesses as its ‘Industrial and Terminal’ division

Brelin. 59, will head the Industrial and Terminal business in the Americas region from 1st October, he has worked for Cargotec for more than 20 years and is currently senior vice president of Hiab Americas. He first joined Hiab as group financial controller from 1978 to 1981 but then spent 10 years with other companies, including five years with Tico as vice president marketing.

The new Industrial and Terminal organisation will become operational during the last quarter of this year, until then Hiab and Kalmar will continue to operate as separate businesses. External financial reporting will continue unchanged through 2009.
