Saudi rental expert retires

Abdul Latif Mohammed of Kanoo Equipment Rental in Saudi Arabia is retiring this week after 27 years with the company.

Latif joined Kanoo in 1985 and was charged in 1996 with creating its equipment rental business, originally dubbed Gulf Lifting Rental Company (GLRC), based in Dammam. Since then the business, now known as Kanrent, has grown beyond all recognition and now includes fork trucks, hoists, mastclimbers, aerial lifts, excavators, skid steers generators and more.

In 2007 he was given the management of a major fork lift truck rental contract with Saudi Aramco and two years later he also took over the even more significant Saudi Aramco crane rental contract.
Latif will complete his last duties with the company this week and then return to his home town in Kerala, India.
