TGM Wind Services of Abilene, Texas has taken delivery of two new 90 metre Bronto Skylift model S-90 HLA truck-mounted aerial lifts, the highest lifts currently working in North America.
The new lifts, mounted on a six -axle Kimball chassis, have been purchased primarily to inspect and maintain wind turbines. The lifts can cover most terrain in order to reach remote turbine locations.
The two lifts have been ordered with 2.4 by one metre platforms with 1,000 lbs/454kg capacity. Maximum outreach is 33 metres and feature one-button automatic outrigger levelling and can set up and reach the full working height in 15 to 20 minutes.
Steve Starling, North American sales manager for Bronto said: “The delivery of these first two high reach aerials marks the beginning of a safer and better way to access turbine blades and the exteriors of wind turbines and other tall structures in North America.”
“With the many advantages of using aerial work platforms over other methods of accessing extremely tall overhead work areas, we anticipate other Bronto machines including the 104 metre model S-104 HLA and additional S-90 HLA machines will be delivered in North America in the near future.”
